I knew enough music theory to sing in choir and play saxophone.

And I come from a musical family!

(That's my mom on pipe organ and my dad singing.)

But at some point in the semester, I could no longer answer my son's questions.

"What you talkin' about, Mom?"

(That's my son when I explain music theory.)

Then I found out that my nephew Andrew, who inherited all my parents' musical abilities, taught music theory to a homeschool group local to him, and I exclaimed:

"CC parents need you!"

(That's Andrew & me at the pool when I was visiting my home state.)

So I convinced Andrew to create a Math in Motion coaching course as I had created a short story coaching course, and...

You have to know the practical theory of a car to drive a car. If you don't, then you can't enjoy amazing moments of driving the most enjoyable cars—not unlike music theory.

Understanding the practical theory of music gives you insight into the music, so you are able to create with it!

God does the same! Many times in scripture, God set order to things only to give us freedom to create with the canvas He laid out.
