However, most business, or athletic, coaches don't know the truly effective techniques that create mental fitness. That's where I come in. The paper also mentions that not only are athletes who use these techniques consistently more mentally tough, but they are actually better athletes. Yes, using these mental fitness techniques improved physical performance!

The same will be true for you. Using techniques like hypnosis, visualization, and positive self-talk will not only help you develop fortitude, toughness, and grit, but you will also perform better at your skill, whatever it is.

Positive self-talk is a powerful tool you can use today to begin programming yourself for success. The most important words you will ever hear are the ones you say to yourself. Will you use those words to build you or break you?

Trust my experience; the way you talk to yourself significantly impacts your performance and resilience. Elite performers often use positive self-talk to boost their confidence, reduce performance anxiety, and focus on their goals.

Here's a simple way to start practicing positive self-talk:

  1. Identify Negative Self-Talk: Pay attention to your inner dialogue. Do you often criticize yourself or doubt your abilities? Recognize these negative thoughts.

  2. Challenge Negative Thoughts: Ask yourself if these negative thoughts are true. Often, you'll find that they're not.

  3. Replace Negative Thoughts with Positive Ones: Whenever you engage in negative self-talk, consciously replace it with positive statements. Instead of saying, "I can't do this," say, "I can do this," or "I'm doing my best."
