Participants in our Swim School Instructor Training program will acquire a solid, principle-based understanding as well as the skills and confidence to teach children ages 3 to 16 how to swim skillfully. Our first instructor training covers the fundamental skills of water safety and swimming in all four primary stroke styles.
Our advanced instructor training is for competitive swimmers and covers more advanced skills relating to competitive swimming. Participants will learn to lead lessons and assess a student’s progress along 9 skill-proficiency levels. Open Water instructor training introduces open-water swimming skills.

Fundamentals Instructor Training is a blended learning program that equates to approximately four days of training. It consists of both online sessions (6 x 2-3 hours approx.) and pool practices (2 days approx.) in a small group setting
Advanced Instructor Training is a 3-day program with on-site training in a small group setting
Written and video analysis assignments are required during the training.
Study of online materials may be required before group training sessions.
We only use credentialed SwimMastery Swim School Instructor Trainers for this training.
Active subscription at the Affiliate Membership level and good standing as a member.
Experience as a student learning the SwimMastery fundamental skills in your own swimming.
The application is accessed in the Affiliate Member section of our member-access website.
Provide a video of your swimming, demonstrating certain fundamental skills.
Write an 1-page essay (topics are explained in the application).
£640 for Fundamentals Instructor and includes 1 year of membership at a Swim School Instructor Fundamentals
£799 for Advanced Instructor, and includes 1 year of membership at a Swim School Instructor Advanced
After 1 year, if no additional instructor training is accomplished, membership and access to continuing education can be continued for £15 per month.
